Puzzle Competitions

Are you logical – why not try pure-logic problems? The World Puzzle Championship competitions are designed to be playable and based on simple principles. It doesn’t matter your culture or your language.

It all got started with Will Shortz. He wanted to produce an event where puzzlers from various countries could compete on an equal playing field. The challenge of this competition comes down to speed.

Every year a different city is chosen to hold the competition. However the first was held in New York City in 1992. To date, 33 countries are official members of the WPF (World Puzzle Federation). You also may take part as an individual if your country is not represented by a national team.

Titles have been given in two age categories for the best players – Over 50 and under 18.
